About Tim A. Mills

Tim A. Mills

Since he was six years old, Tim A. Mills has wanted to do nothing more than sword fight like Errol Flynn, Captain Blood, the Jedi Knights of Star Wars™, and the Three Musketeers. It took a while, but he finally managed it.

Tim is a fencing coach and teaches Olympic fencing at Royal Arts Fencing Academy in Columbus, Ohio. In the evenings he drills footwork, blade work, and timing into fencers of all levels. These are the same discipline and attention to detail that shows up on every page he writes.

His urban fantasy novels are set in worlds where history bend slightly differently, where magic operates just below the surface of the familiar, and where the sword is still occasionally the right answer. Tim is the author of The Pushkin Paradox series, beginning with Sidewise, and The Virtuosi Chronicles, beginning with The Day the Whimsy Died.

The reality was that when asked whether the pen or the sword was mightier, he couldn't make up his mind. So he did both.

Tim lives and writes in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and fellow coach Julia.
